General Essay B My most significant challenge was when I was eight years old. I had a major tooth infection which was caused from my love for candy that had over the years become infected. The infection had managed to maneuver itself into my gums and infecting them as well. My dentist said that they had to pull my tooth out because there was no other way for them to get the infection to stop. We had to stay at the dentist because he said that the infection was so bad that they had to take care of it that day. He soon after took me into the backroom and had my mom wait in the waiting room. He said that first he was going to numb my gums before he took the tooth out of my mouth. The only problem was that I did not realize that he was going to numb my gums by sticking a needle into my gums and applying the numbing medication that way. Well back then I was deathly afraid of needles that I would not let anyone who had one near me at all. The poor guy did not know what was coming to him. It took about two people to pin me down so that he could give me a shot to numb the side of my face. The only problem was that when he put the numbing medication into my gums he either did not put enough into my gums or he did not wait long enough for my gums to become numb like they are supposed to do. He had picked up this weird tool and started pulling on my tooth. All I could remember after that was that I had heard this weird gruesome noise. I would like to do this because I believe that I can prevent this from happening to any other person that I treat or whoever I help treat. I do not want anyone to go through what I had to go through because I believe that all of that pain the dental hygienist had caused me could have been
