Clichés seem to always crowd the mind whenever we try to speak meaningfully about the things we love. In particular, the beautiful game of soccer always seems to mock our efforts to describe its genuine beauty. Nothing in the world could ever match the enjoyment of playing soccer. Both mentally and physically. Whenever you play, you can't help but feel the individual nerves tingle throughout your body along with the adrenaline coursing through your blood stream. It is at these times, life is truly worth living. Even on the field, nothing can prepare you for the sensation one will experience, especially on your debut. With the fields roaming empty, I could hear the sounds of morning from the little sparrows chirping to the hissing of the insects. I stopped and enjoyed the beautiful …show more content…

“Good job Blanca, just like that!” When I heard that, I instantly opened my eyes and saw that I had made a low strike. From that day on, starting each spring for nine years, I was outside practicing to be the best player I could be. Still to this day, even though I don’t play baseball anymore, nothing comes close to the energy and excitement I get from a baseball diamond because my body becomes full of energy, my mind begins to replay player’s actions and nothing seems to break my mind and focus on winning the game. Walking up to the gate my heart starts beating…

The crisp breeze rustled my hair as I walked out of my house on the fall September day with my dad drilling instructions into my head. It was my first Little League baseball game ever, and my dad wanted to make sure it wasn’t my last. Being seven years old and never touching a baseball was something that had scared me; a lot. I had no idea what to think about this foreign, petrifying, game could possibly be about. The car ride from my house was only a few minutes away from the fields where I would begin my baseball career.…

But the voices that stand out the most to you are those of your coaches saying, “You’re here for a reason.” You step into the batter's box with confidence, moving the dirt around to be just right. This is it; it’s all depending on you and your bat. The pitch is thrown and it’s high, so you lay off of it. You step out for a second and gather yourself, easing the nerves.…

I woke up early on a Saturday morning, knowing that it is going to be a great day for football. Football takes up the majority of my Saturday, from playing in my game at San Joaquin Memorial, to watching college ball throughout the day, and going to the Fresno State game at Bulldog Stadium. It does sound like a lot of football, but for me it is the sport I love, and I am very grateful to have it in my life. When I stepped outside, the weather was perfect. The sun was shining bright, there was a light breeze in the air, the sky was wonderful and blue, and there was no ash in sight.…
