Personal Narrative: My Love Of Football

Improved Essays
I woke up early on a Saturday morning, knowing that it is going to be a great day for football.

Football takes up the majority of my Saturday, from playing in my game at San Joaquin Memorial, to

watching college ball throughout the day, and going to the Fresno State game at Bulldog Stadium. It

does sound like a lot of football, but for me it is the sport I love, and I am very grateful to have it in my

life. When I stepped outside, the weather was perfect. The sun was shining bright, there was a light

breeze in the air, the sky was wonderful and blue, and there was no ash in sight. I then get ready for my

game and leave my house. I start to think about the game on my way there so I stay focused. This is

When I arrive in the locker room, I am welcomed by my teammates and we watch the college

games that are on the flat screen. As we watch the matchups, I notice my favorite

(And hopefully my future) colleges are have won their games. I have always been a Stanford and Notre

Dame fan and it always puts a smile on my face when they win their games. After watching some of the

games, my teammates and I get ready to play our own. We have put in a lot of hard work all week to

ensure a victory for today’s game.

Our game begins, and we are all ready to play our best. As the game progresses, we score lots of

points, and do not get scored on. Every one of us as having a great game, and I would say I was playing

good myself by making some immense plays. The matchup eventually comes to an end, and we shutout

our opponents. It was a very pleasurable game, demolishing the other team, and now we all know that

practice is going to be a whole lot sweeter this next week.

After my game, it is time for even more football, and represent Fresno State at Bulldog Stadium.

I have been going to Bulldog games since I was seven, and it is always a fun time watching the game.

While my transcript reflects my GPA and test scores, it doesn't tell the whole story of my independence, self-motivation, and determination as a student. Lacking in this equation are the challenges of being a student in one of the largest high schools in Texas, as well as participating in school activities that require time management to fit everything into a 24-hour day. Lamar teachers are often stretched to the limits to explain the curriculum due to the diversity of the student body. To fully understand the material, I have to research solutions independently from class.
