Results Interview #1 I spoke with Tanya Mace for a long period of time to decide what I wanted to do I was really planning on doing my associates in nursing but after speaking to Mrs. Mace I have come to the conclusion that I am going to do the LPN (licensed practical nursing) program and decide from there if I get accepted into the ADN in program in august I am going to hold off until I finish the LPN program then maybe do the bridge program for my RN (registered nursing).I chose to speak with Mrs. Mace because she is my academic advisor and she works with students to help them make the best decisions for their career paths. Interview #2 In my second interview I spoke to several formal and current students to see if what Mrs. Mace had told me was true. After several of the formal students told me that they had tried the R.N program first and found it very hard to go straight into the nursing program and not doing the LPN program first, and not working in the field, they felt like they were always behind the rest of the students who had previous experience.…

It is my goal to pursue a career as a nurse. When I was little I loved to pretend I was Dr. Vicki, and I would "fix" the broken bones and bandage the injuries of my family members and stuffed animals all the time. As I grew older becoming a nurse became less of a dress up game and more of career goal. My interest in the health field was heightened by having an uncle who works as an EMT. My uncle Charlie always had stories to tell, and they were some of the most interesting and bizarre tales I'd ever heard.…

I never had an experience with the school nurse. Before attending clinical rotation at the LHS, my only assumptions about school nurses was that they only pass prescribed medications, apply bandages, or provide first aid in emergency situations. After the completion of clinical rotation, I say school nursing is much more than I assumed earlier. School nurses have to deal not only students’ “drama”, but with their parents’ lame concerns. Some of the parents think school nurses are doctors, pharmacists, radiologists, and more.…
