Personal Narrative: My Love For Boxing

Decent Essays
One sport i would like to see more often is boxing. I would like to see boxing more frequently in school or after school programs or P.E. Boxing is a sport that can train yourself in self defense in fighting. When you are defending yourself there are three ways of doing it and this includes fighting, dodging or blocking. This is a great way to burn calories, build stamina, and to gain more strength.
Another sport I like is tennis which is good because you constantly have to be moving throughout the whole game. Not only do you have to move you need to have skill and coordination to play it right. If you have friends you can play 1 on 1 or 2 on 2. 1 on 1 is harder since you do not have anyone helping you so you are all by yourself. 2

Choosing the person to interview for this assignment was difficult at first, trying to determine which sport and how to contact that person. I first started with the Toledo Mud Hens, but didn’t receive any call backs. I also contacted the Lansing Lugnuts and the West Michigan White Caps and again no call backs. So I looked up minor league baseball teams and the name El Paso Chihuahuas caught my attention. Looking up their front office staff on their website I seen that Angela Olivas is the Director, Marketing and Communications for the team.…

One activity that I would want to add to physical education would be Dodge ball. I want to add it because I think it is a good game, and I think that many other students in our school enjoy it too. If we were able to vote, in physical education, I think that many students would choose to add Dodge ball. The thing about Dodge ball that I think people enjoy is the friendly competition and facing off against their friends to see who wins. I think almost everyone can agree they enjoy a short friendly game of dodgeball.…

Rocky Balboa is my hero and a roll model for me. Today I had the pleasure of spending my whole day with my icon, in the city of “Brotherly Love”. We met up early in the morning at his gym for our morning workout. After we finished the workout we went out to lunch at Pat’s Dinner, where I asked him questions about his teenager days. The last thing that Rocky and I did on our day was that he took me through the city and showed me many of the places of the city that meant the most to him.…

Unfortunately, I knew my Mom would never agree to let me wrestle, and the moment I asked for her consent, she declined my request. However, I desired to be a part of the wresting squad, so I knew the only way I could be a member was to convince my Mom I deserved the chance to be on the Wrestling team.…
