Another negative is the loss of both physical and social interaction and genuine communication with others. That is one result that I definitely noticed after the first couple months of becoming a cell phone user. Instead of calling my parents after to school to let them know I was home, I would just shoot a quick text not wanting to “waste time” with a phone call. Which as a result meant not hearing their voice or listening to their side. I also no longer felt the need or want to hang out with friends every day because texting each other was basically like hanging out. So, as I noted above, receiving a phone at the age of 11 did teach me some responsibilities, like knowing that I had to charge my phone every night and most importantly that I had to make sure I didn’t misplace it somewhere or forget it because I would not be getting a new one, but a serious drawback was I started to have less and less in person communication and interactions with friends and
