Personal Narrative: My Life In Iraq

I was born on September 16, 1980 in Baghdad, which is the capital of Iraq. I have two brothers who I spend my childhood with, playing outside and trying everything, even crazier things. I went to a preschool when I was four years old because my mom and dad were working at that time. Then, I went to the first grade when I was six years old. Then, when I grew up I stopped playing outside because that's how the life in my culture. I spent the time either studying or helping my mom.
In 1991, I saw for the first time how the war looks like. We had to travel to another state because the bombardment was very heavy on Baghdad and I was very scared that I came out in pajamas and later realized my brothers went out barefoot. After the war ended, we went back to Baghdad, and I went back to school again, but without my friends who died in Amiriyah Shelter, which is located close to our house. That was the first shock and deep sorrow happened in my life. Years passed quickly between the sanction against Iraq and another war.
In 2000, I enrolled in Baghdad University, Computer Science and I was hopeful to be an important person in the community, I was the most successful with distinction every year, but in 2003 another war,

At that time, my coworker asked to marry me and we got married on 31st Dec 2006.In June 2008, I gave birth of my son and then the other one in March 2010. My brother moved to USA in 2006 and he encouraged us to move as well. In October 2012, we moved to live in the United States; at the beginning everything was hard to understand and it was really hard to communicate with others and in October 2013, I started my first job here in America as an administrative assistant in a preschool.
