Personal Narrative: My Life In Indiana

Improved Essays
I’ve lived my entire life in Indiana, as have my parents. My mom and dad were raised close to Monroe and went to Adams Central, where they met and fell in love. They ended up moving north to Fort Wayne where they had my sister and I. We began our schooling in FWCS, but we moved farther north to the tiny town of Huntertown later, which led to my sister and I switching to NACS for my high schooling and her middle and high schooling. Due to all of the events that have happened here in Indiana throughout my life, and due to most of my immediate family living in the area, I have a desire to continue living and working here. However, I do not know what know what area I would like to work in. I am currently going into college as an undecided major,

Since i was 6 years old i have had two lives. One is confined to the months of june through august, the months of fireflies and bikinis. I live my summer life as a free spirit on lake Winnipesaukee NH. I wake up at 5 am, watch the sunrise, drink green tea, venture through the mountains of New Hampshire, dance in the rain, and spend days painting at the end of the dock. I swim in the lake with my siblings until our shoulders burn and eat melting ice cream cones until our stomachs hurt, loving every minute.…

As someone who grew up in a safe city with a supportive, middle-class family, and enrolled in a public school system that offered an abundance of valuable classes taught by extremely qualified teachers, I was blinded to how others live. As I became old enough to understand that the majority of people in the world would never live like me, I wanted to do something to change that. I was taken aback by the conditions of the families I was to help on my mission trip just south of me in Tennessee. I was not in the same United States that I knew. But that wasn’t what shocked me the most.…

I have lived my entire life in rural Ohio. Due to this, my experiences have not always been that of a typical member of my demographic. My house is situated with a swine building on one side and corn and soybean fields on the other, with the crop type depending on the year. The nearest town holds little options for dining or entertainment. The establishment that resembles a restaurant is just a pizza joint and in order to see a movie at a theater a thirty minute drive is required.…

College Essay Being raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin as a poor family was not only tough for me, but tough on my parents knowing how hard it was to raise a child with no money and a 9-5 Job. Living in Wisconsin as an 8 year old boy was tough, not only was it freezing cold everyday, but all the other children would make fun of me because I didn’t have the highest fashion of clothing or the newest shoes. At the time I would come home upset everyday because I knew I couldn’t dress as nice or be as good as any of the other kids, and being at home wasn’t any better. I would wake up in the middle of the night every night, there were so many shots the neighbor looked at the calendar because they thought it was Fourth of July. My family lived in a small apartment complex right outside of town, the area was known for crime, murders, and excessive break ins.…

State Track and Field Around this time last year, my brother, his 4x100 relay team, and hundreds of other athletes competed in Jefferson City, Missouri at the state track meet. The meet lasted for two days and those two days were completely opposite of each other. The first day was rainy and cloudy, there wasn’t many people there, and there wasn’t much excitement. The second day was nothing even comparable to that. It was sunny and hot, there were hundreds and hundreds of people there, and the stadium was filled with sounds of people yelling.…
