Personal Narrative: My Life At Miami University

“So what is your story?”. It is such a trivial question, yet so commonly thought over. The truth is, there is not a single defining moment in my life that has led me to where I am today or finalized my decision in attending Miami University. Who I am, how I came to be, and what influences my choices in life is a mixture of moments, experiences, and relationships that has molded me into this person standing in front of you today. However, if I were to truly choose what or who is the biggest impact of my life, I would say my mom. Alongside the influences of my mom would be the sport of softball and the world of athletics in general. This includes all of the people who have coached me as well. Every single one, especially the ones who did not believe in me made an impact. Another defining moment …show more content…
The best part about it is that I can confidently say that she has done a better job than some families who have both. Unfortunately, my dad passed away from Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. A few years after that, turmoil arose between my mom and my dad’s side of the family. Ultimately, I lost half of the people who I loved so dearly. From these heavy life experiences, I was taught some harsh life lessons at a very young age and had to learn to cope with the downfalls of life very quickly. From these experiences, I learned that life is too short to not enjoy every moment of it, and to seize every opportunity you have, as you do not know when it will be the last. These events alone impacted my life in such a profound way and granted me a new perspective, along with appreciation for life. From these events I came to the realization that everything truly does happen for a reason. This is because just like every other thing I draw out as a key component in the making of who I came to be, my life and the person I am would absolutely not be the same without
