That day, I went home and told my parents all about my day and my teacher. The next day I was enrolled in ESOL which is an English learning program for foreign students. Needless to say, my teacher stopped being nice to me because my parents complained. I was so tired of feeling lost and relying on people to translate words for me that I set a goal for myself. I read a thick “Calvin and Hobbes” comic book every week and I kept a personal diary. I was proud of my writing until the FCAT was mentioned.
