This situation represents an interpersonal conflict among the two female Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who have twenty years’ experience each, and the new CNA who is still in the nursing school (Harr, 2013). Some of the obvious causes for the conflict is the generational difference, he is full of energy and provides an excellent nursing care, and soon will be graduating to be a nurse (Harr, 2013). This could lead to another conflict which is a financial issue, the two CANs will realize that soon he will be making more money they do, which will lead to losing the enthusiasm to work harder as evidenced by the fact that they are always hanging around the nursing station instead of rounding on their patients, consequently the quality of work…

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way” these are the words of Viktor Frankl that have fueled me within the last few years. After traumatically losing my leg in an accident I did not lose my positive attitude toward life or my desire to help others, I choose my own way to continue the path I was following before this tragedy struck. From the age of 18 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to age 25 working as a Mental Health Associate (MHA) at a hospital, I chose to lead a life of service. As I entered my senior year of undergrad, I began looking for an opportunity to work with people requiring any form of health care assistance. Luckily, I came across an opening for a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position in the school newspaper. At the time, I didn’t know exactly what a PCA was, but I knew I wanted to work one-on-one with patients, and this job would allow me to do exactly that. After I went through all the training that was required, it was finally time to meet my client. The only details my supervisor told me about my client were: his name, that I would be assisting in driving him around in his handicap accessible van, getting him dressed, monitoring him during his walking exercises, and that he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy as a child and was bound to a wheelchair.…

I work full time at the local hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and I just finished my Emergency Medical Technician Certification this past semester (CNA). Before coming to the hospital I worked 5 nights a week at an acute psychiatric hospital while going to school full time.…
