Many times, when troubleshooting a cell site, more time is wasted in step one than in any other time in the process. For this reason, I feel the most important step in solving any problem is to correctly define the problem (Bethel University 2014). There are several ways to do this, such as looking in my journal to see if this issue has come up in the past. However, my greatest resource is brainstorming with other departments to determine when this issue first occurred and if any of the other technicians have come across this identical issue. We went through the exact procedure that Lee used back in June to restore his site, but did not get the same results. Now it was time to get creative. One of the rules at AT&T are that we are not supposed to restart a cell site during daytime hours. However, this is one of those times when I made a judgement to break the rules. After evaluating all the facts, I performed a restart on the site and I would be lying if I said I was not a little concerned, waited for the site to come back to life.
