The memories began flooding my clouded mind as I was walking. 8th grade Billy had already began to distance himself, girls gawking over a new guy every week, and beatings became route. Halfway through I just couldn’t take the constant torture anymore. One day after returning home from another beating I broke down while walking through the door. With mom gone there was no instant alert at the sound of my wails of sorrow echoing through the halls. Each step two or three drops of blood landed on the floor like marbles landing one by one.

I quickly checked my wardrobe for any last minute alterations that may have needed to be made. Or at least I was until an overly high pitched voice startled me.

“Oh my gosh is that Johnny!!”

None other Susie-Lin Timbly hopping out of her seat with nearly unbelievable gymnastics accuracy. When I looked up she was running toward me so I guess she forgot my name for the millionth time.

“My name is Scott but it is nice to see you” I replied with her arms around

A dilemma that I faced, and still am facing is simply the decision about what I want to do with my life after my high school career. In my freshman year of high school my goal was simply to get through the year in one piece. I was forced to conform to my new environment and all the strict rules that came along with it. Along with that it was the sudden transition from being the "big dogs" as eighth graders at my middle school to being "fresh-meat" in my first year high school. With so much attention placed on me as a freshman like on the varsity basketball team, where I was constantly forced to prove my worth to the coach and the players, to stepping out of my comfort zone and performing in a mandatory play for the rest of the the school as…
