Personal Narrative: My Letter To Utah State University

At the beginning of my senior year, I applied to almost ten different colleges and universities – from the east coast to the west coast and basically everything in between. I remember my reaction for each and every return letter I got. The one that stood out the most was the letter from Utah State University. Out all of the acceptance letters Utah State University was the only letter that made me jump up and down, and squeal like the excited little girl I was in that moment. My reaction was not something I could explain. For as long as I could remember I did not want to even consider Utah State University as a possibility. All the tales of what her and her sorority sisters used to get up to were shared on those walks. I had the full intent of joining the same sorority as her until I started to get to know the sorority Alpha Chi Omega. Alpha Chi Omega promotes music and being yourself at the very fundamental level, and those were the two most important things to my great-grandmother when it came to me. I may not have joined the same sorority as her but I still feel like it brought me closer to her. It has helped me keep the closeness of that relationship in my heart. Her words are still a part of me and they have helped shape me in to who I am becoming. I found a great deal of happiness and security here at Utah State University and I am beyond glad that I chose to come here. My great-grandmother’s positive influence has lead me to where I am and I think attending this institution will help me continue that positive influence’s effect. I will continue to grow and discover who I am here at this “jump up and down, and squeal like an excited little girl” worthy
