Personal Narrative: My Leadership

In my opinion, one of my major extraordinary skill is my leadership. I have had many outlets where I have showed it as well. When I was younger, my first leadership role I would say was when I was sworn in as the president for 4-H in third grade. When I entered middle school, I would tutor and guide kids to better grades. When I entered High school, my skill blossomed even more when I took so many opportunities and ran with them. I joined Project Discovery and joined youth group where I would lead majority of the conversations. Then during my ninth and tenth grade summer, I joined the Southside Community College STEM camp where I was a team leader. When two of my friends who I was beginning to grow a strong bond with passed away last April, I felt that the community needed an event to have where we could all comfort each other and most importantly the family. That was my first time ever doing something with a huge impact to the community and guiding over 300 people. It was successful, and I feel that it helped many people through a tough time in life, including me. The summer after my 11th grade year, I joined American Legion Boys State, leadership conference, and Call Me Mister, three events enhancing my leadership ways. In my senior year, I hold leadership roles by being the Senior Class President and making a mentoring program for my community. Being the senior class president, I have to lead meetings, both with sponsors and the entire class of one hundred students. Tasks like that can be difficult due to so many different agendas or personalities incorporated clashing at once, but I am able to handle it and make compromises or anything for a reasonable solution.
