Personal Narrative: My Last Year In High School

13 long years later, I am half way done with my final year in high school, the moment we all look forward to as kids. Yes I’m done with my k-12 schooling but I still have a long way to go with college. The thought of that doesn’t bother me as much though because I know I am well educated and have been preparing for this higher level of education for a long time. Even though my year is winding down I know when I am on my own at college there will definitely be somethings I miss and others I’m very proud of. One thing I know I will miss, as shocking as it sounds, is the rules, standards and expectations my parents put into place for me. I also believe that their strength and motivation will be what gets me through this. Looking back on my life and school now I am thankful for my challenges and all my hard times and bad days because I’ve realized without the struggle and challenge I would not learn. If you’re not being challenged than it’s too easy and you already know it, but when you learn something new that’s when the headaches come, the hard days and the challenges. Mistakes are a part of learning and learning is what I like to do.
