Personal Narrative: My Last Day In Newberry

Decent Essays
My last day in Newberry was a great day; it felt good to do something I love doing. Helping my team. I was able to actually see and try to remove staples, although it was difficult. I see I have a fear of hurting my patient. I know I have to get over that. I do know that I want to be able to have my teacher feel safe with letting me perform certain treatments or procedures without her. So that as well as successfully implementing them will be a great goal next month. I also know that I haven't been doing as great as I could be in theory class so I feel as though that has affected my "clinical state of mind". I also felt weird about having patients back to back be discharged. I know that is a part of nursing. But it would have been good to spend

Have you ever stopped caring so much that whatever happens, happens? I remember the time I had gotten in trouble by my mom because I had walked home from school. It was a gloomy day from it being so cloudy and cold. I was talked into walking home during school by friends whom, at the time didn't care about school as much as I did, cared nothing of school. I didn’t like it, but then again I started not to care either.…

I also learned how to combine and practice my assessments that I learned up to week 8. I was able to hear crackling sounds in the lungs of a resident who has COPD. Moreover, my biggest challenge this week was understanding everything that I should assess by observing the resident’s diagnoses. I knew some signs and symptoms of some diseases but I did not have access to a computer to look it up. I would ask some of the LPN’s, but they seemed a bit annoyed to answer some of my questions.…

I’m starting over again anew something different now. The last run was great while it lasted. Day one back at practice was pretty rough, hitting balls endlessly at the range brought upon old bad habits. It made me realize how far away I was from my former swing, the consistency, strength, and concentration it had brought me. I had now found myself with a rugged backswing and an upbeat tempo.…

I remember the day before my first day at Pennoyer. I was sad and happy, scared, and mad all at the same time. I remember crying and yelling at my parents to not make me go to school that next day. The next day I showed up at school and remember walking into Mrs. Michael’s third grade class and seeing all of these new people that I would be friends with for years to come. At this school is where I made new friends, great memories, and where I grew up from a little kid into a young adult.…

It had been months since there had been any significant rain in Oklahoma. There was dust everywhere. On the sheets, in our food, and covering every establishment in sight. Although this had been the daily condition for a long time, nothing could have prepared me for what happened the day of Sunday, April 14, 1935. Conditions had been getting really bad in Scherville, the town I lived in.…

Starting a first assignment can be enjoyable yet nerve wrecking, as when it involves researching yourself on "Google". it doesn't seem to help either Being a beginner to online classes, Its quite Intimidating .Its comforting of being slightly used to the computer, as my past job experience has been mostly at call centers, in front of lucent screen. It was a scorching summer afternoon around three o’ clock PM at J.D Redd Park. I was anxiously waiting in third base for the batter to approach the plate and smack the yarn covered ball just enough for me to make it to the home plate. As the sun hits my face I see the pitcher retract his right arm getting ready to throw it. As I see the ball leave the pitcher’s hand, I breathed in the humid air, making preparations to sprint as fast as I could and make it to the home plate. Before I could even gather my thoughts the ball departed from the pitcher’s hand and into the bat of one of the members of my team.…

I was smiling the whole time as the skin around my neck was being ripped off. Well I wasn’t actually smiling and as brutal as I made it sound, it wasn’t as horrific an event now that I look back on it. The incident occurred while I was on Spring Break during my freshman year in high school. My family and I were vacationing in Gatlinburg, Tennessee;which if I might add we’ve been there about eight times since I was seven years old. I remember clearly that day down to the exact temperature.…

At a younger age, I would say I believed that I can only trust myself and my mother, this is because as a little kid my mom would always tell me that there are bad people in the world and that giving them any information about anything can be very harmful. But as I grew up and realized what was actually happening in my country I knew there were millions of others that were suffering against the “bad people” and we could only do something about it if the whole community came together to help. It was at that time when I was about 25, when I started to put some effort into trying to establish more just conditions within my country especially after the implication of extremely high food prices. This is when I started my first strike involving my…
