Personal Narrative: My Lake House

Improved Essays
My Lake House My stepmom, Karla, asked my dad, Donald, if he wanted the family to come down to the lake house. Included to the family is our dogs. Tank, Gizmo, and cricket are our dogs names. Cricket is a rat terrier, Gizmo is a lab along with Tank. Our lake house is in Martinsville, Illinois. That is a two and a half hour drive down there with one stop to get something to eat. She had to ask him because her brother lived there before we got the property and he destroyed the trailer. It wasn’t that he destroyed the trailer or that the furniture had to be removed and disposed of. It’s that the floor had to be removed too! He isn’t that good of a person. Anyways, my dad said that he got it somewhat clean for the family to come down to stay there for the weekend. My dad took Tank and Gizmo with him to our trailer because he had room in his car and he wanted to see how the dogs would react down in Martinsville. Karla, my brother, cricket and I were all in Karla’s Dodge …show more content…
“Yeah, I’m fine it’s just now we have to fix a hole in the floor,” my dad stated.
When my dad and I stop talking, all we hear is Karla yelling at the dogs to get away from her and her yelling,
“What just happened in there? I heard a thud, which that didn’t sound to good.” “Oh. No, babe we’re okay, it’s just I fell through the floor,” my dad stated. “WHAT!!!” she yelled, “Are you alright. I know your back hurts and now you just added another project onto our list.” “No. I’m okay and yes I comprehend that, babe.” my dad stated
Now, my dad has to fix the support for the floor and tear out the floor because the rats and rain destroyed the wood.
On the next day, September 3, Karla and I have had enough of the trailer and it unpredicted. My brother didn’t help us with anything, he was more fascinated with the boat than anything. Karla and I packed up the dirty clothes we had and prepared to leave with Cricket, while my dad and brother stay until

In the beginning, the conversation is an agitated tone of words and actions. This can be shown on page 53 as it says in the story “ you think that just because i act strange that we can talk and it will be all right, his father said. “ that we can talk and it will just go away. That’s what you think, isn’t it?” It seems like Terry’s dad isn’t getting the right help and he is agitated that Terry brought up his problems.…

An explosion rocked the boat, sending unseen odds-and-ends rolling about the cabin. A girl, wearing her nightgown, clung to a support beam. As the boat steadied—or came as close as it could to steadying—the girl scrambled to gather her things. Flashes of light lit up the night sky, and more explosions mixed with the yells of the crewmen fighting off the opposing ship.…

end. My heart pounded as I approached the small cluster of nurses. Huddled at the end of a patient’s bed, the group of women in white aprons and pink button-up dresses whispered amongst themselves and avoided the gaze of the fuming lead nurse in front of them. Maria yanked the wool blanket off the patient beside her and threw it onto the linoleum floor.…

There was a crisp and refreshing wind that swirled around in the air, creating a harmony in motion with the lakes bountiful waves. It was a startling summer morning in the West Virginia mountains as everything was so clear, picturesque and vibrant. The blue sky shone a bright blue, the yellow sun radiated a bright yellow, and the green lake shimmered exuberantly. Interrupting this peaceful scene were several loud splashes as young campers dove one after another erupting in excitement (and possibly an ounce of initial shock at the lakes contrast in coolness with the other elements). We; the divers, were already bursting at the seams of delight from the anticipation built canoeing up to this spot, considerably far from the shore of the lake.…

It all started around five am, we all started to pile up into the jeep. While everyone stumbled around like drunken zombies, I was wide awake and pumped up. I grabbed my blanket, my pillow, and my snacks and hopped in. Our first stop was up at Casey’s for drinks, so that we could begin our four hour long journey to the camp grounds. Jess turned up the radio, I stared out the window and listened to the music for the first 30 minutes of the ride.…

As the word “pregnant” came out of her mouth, my heart stopped for a second, and the smile on my face disappeared. Chapter Thirty-Two Slipping Through Glass I sat in my room on the floor, silent, still, straining to make out the sound of footsteps downstairs, while I waited for what seemed like forever. Finally, I saw an arm holding a stack of books, a leg, another arm, and Emma slipped all the way through the glass. “That was awesome,” she said, setting her books down on a table. “We made it back, and hey, look, your room is perfect, except for the pile of dirty clothes in the corner.”…
