Personal Narrative: My Junior High Years

Improved Essays
Over the course of my junior high years, there have been some big changes in my life. So much has changed within my family, friends, style, appearance, maturity, height, and who I am as a person. Academically my grades have stayed above a 90 throughout my entire junior high experience, so there wasn’t much of a change in that category. My junior high years have been fun and I have had so many great experiences and opportunities, and I am actually not ready to be a freshmen yet. I’d like to enjoy junior high for a little while longer. Over the past two years I have changed so much, but one of the biggest changes is within my friends. When I first started Junior High in seventh grade, I had very few classes with any of my friends. It was really hard to spend time with them throughout the day, so I found a new group of friends. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them in my life, and it is so much better to have them around. Even though we argue sometimes, I have no clue what I would do without them. They are some of the best people I know. As a group, we have all changed and became our own independent selves. So thanks to my friends for making me into a better person from the time I started junior high until now. …show more content…
My cousins moved to Charlestown a few years ago, and it’s difficult to deal with when your family is as close as we are. The ten of us always have eachothers backs and we always support each other through anything and everything. Without them, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. They have taught me so much, and the most important is having faith and knowing that anything is possible with God. I knew these things before I started junior high, but I have really started to understand them, and I can thank my family for that! Having a family of ten can get out of hand at times, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. We are crazy and we can all just be fun-loving, loud, and strange

The main reason I love my family so much is because we were always together. We all had dinner at my grandmothers house and then we all went home, we did that everyday. My grandmother picked my sister and I from school and my cousin from day care, when we got to her house we did our homework with our parents or with my grandmother. Then we had dinner as a family all of us, which was my mom, dad, aunt, uncle, cousin, godmother, godfather and my grandmother. Until my grandmother had stroke and we stopped meeting at her house cause she needed extra care.…

In high school my most outstanding example of a time when I set an example as a student leader was my sophomore year in high school. My sophomore year of high school I was brought up to the varsity soccer team, the team that I was on was not extremely hard working and or dedicated. As a sophomore I was afraid to stand up and verbally tell the entire team that we need to step it up, or we are going to have a horrible season, so I decided to make my statement apparent by my actions. First, I started by always being the first one to every practice, putting pressure on my other teammates to do the same, in result everyone started to arrive to practice earlier. The second step I took was difficult since I was one of the youngest players and the…

In the Spring of last year, it was my Junior year, one of the most critical years in high school. It’s the year that colleges look at the most, also it was the year that I was in some of the most challenging classes. Mostly honors, a lot of homework, and tests to go along with it. Studying would take me until late at night, and even on weekends, all day long. When it’s the end of the term everyone checks their grades for their report cards, and progress reports.…

Track and field has been the highlight of my high school life. The social aspect, the large assortment of events from which to choose, and the people I met are things I will always treasure. I especially loved the fact that there was always a place for everyone. If you weren’t too quick, then discus was your event. If you could build up quick bursts of speed, long and triple jumps suited you.…

I have three weeks left of my freshman year, and so far this year has been quite the journey. Although, the journey has kind of sucked if I’m being honest. High school has been alright, but middle school was way better. I miss the nice teachers, the roll schedule, and much more. The classes have been easy this year, but I would prefer a challenge rather than just easy work to keep us busy.…

The end of the day comes whether you have gotten up to do something productive or if you have simply remained inanimate while time moves around you. I have found that the present slips away while you are worrying about the future. We are constantly telling ourselves that if we just get through this, then everything after will be better. We forget to appreciate the moment while constantly reaching for a hypothetically more fulfilling life. Once we graduate high school, or get through a challenging class, or finish a workout, everything after will get easier.…

My senior year in highschool was a really hard year as far as volleyball goes and it sucked the life out of my passion for the game. During club, I began to debate whether I really wanted to play in college or not which was hard because I have devoted so much of my time to this sport. I had always wanted nothing more than to play as long as I could. My sophomore and junior year in highschool I played on two club teams each year and I loved devoting my life volleyball. As uncomfortable and as hard as these moments were to go through, they were the moments that showed me what I valued in my friends.
