Improved Essays
My family and I adventured to Pensacola, Florida in the summer of 2017. The week that left me with amazing memories that I will cherish for a lifetime. Beautiful sunny days, the ocean, dancing in the wind. The sun smiles down on all the people as they walk down to the beach. From the views off of the balcony, the beach was calling my name.

On the beach, the gigantic blue ocean waves for me to jump in and swim. Getting to the beach I could smell the fishy saltwater. I dove into the gigantic blue ocean, an enormous wave hits me, I was knocked to the seafloor. I could not breathe, the burning taste of saltwater went down my throat. When I finally reached the surface I was trying to catch my breath and to my shocking surprise, the massive ocean

Florida is a land of sun palm trees and sand. Florida being a southern state with sweet tea, Publix, and Disney just a few hours away, had many perks. I had never thought of what it might be like to grow up in a northern area, or just even outside of Florida. Up until my 14th summer I had always assumed everyone lived the same way I did. It had all started when I got accepted to a summer program in Washington D.C to attend a medical forum.…

It was a hot summer, sunny day in Florida usually like most others but today was special. I was going deep-sea fishing for the very first time, my mom told me to put on a lot of sunscreens, so I don’t get sunburn. My family and I got dressed and got into the car and made our way for Pompano Beach pier, where the charter boat would be leaving from. We all packed into the boat like a can of sardens, the captain started the engine and we looked over at the glistening deep blue ocean, the seas where calm, when we arrived at the fishing spot the mates gave us fishing poles and told us to drop the baits in the water, a few seconds later the rod is bent over and the line is screeching like crazy, my parents and the captain start yelling at me to reel…

I now had a chilly breeze blowing in my face which was strong enough to keep the pesky bugs away from me. I hadn’t made much progress on my way back when out of the blue the faint breeze turned into a strong gust that brought large waves with it. The strong wind and waves spun my paddleboard around and I flew off. I was paddling in shallower water than I thought and it was quite rocky. When I fell off of…

My first time in Miami was December 4, 2009. It was a winter morning, but in Miami there wasn’t a hint of coldness in the air. When we first received the news that we were leaving Cuba everyone was excited and when the day finally arrived it was a little less thrilling and a little more somber. Leaving everything behind and moving to a new country was difficult and leaving a lot of our family was worse. “This is for you and your sister’s future” my parents said when we arrived in Miami I believe they were trying to persuade themselves more than us.…

Mother Nature most of the time is beautiful, sweet, and loving, but sometimes brushes with mother nature could leave you not functional at all or could be even fatal, this is a lesson I had to learn the hard way. Ever since I was little, I have been thrilled by the beauty of nature and the sea that we had in the city where I lived. I would have never thought that nature would harm me in any way. However, due to my constant foolishness and recklessness, I always found myself in deep trouble. While I was trying to enjoy the beauty of nature, I felt like nature was pushing me away and telling me to stop.…
