I had gone to college the Fall of 1999, following my high school graduation. I had the dream of
one day owning and running a bed in breakfast in the mountains of New Mexico. I attended a culinary
school about 3 hours away from home and enrolled in Hotel and Restaurant Management. It didn’t take
long for the balance of school and working nights to catch up to me. It wasn’t the college class work or
the night time job that was difficult, it was the loneliness and financial burden I found overwhelming. I
made it through one semester of school and decided to transfer to a school closer to home. I had made
straight A’s in all my courses and recall a conversation with a professor in my hotel management course;
