At this current point in life, in my current position in my job at The Beachouse I can honestly say that I am not in this job because I have a passion for children or because I love what I do. I am in this job because at this period of time in my life I need to make money. But in saying this there are positives about the job which make it more enjoyable, the main thing being the friendships between workers and the out of work catch ups with these people. A few teachers in particular stood out to me because I had personal experience with them. One in particular would go above and above any teaching duties. She wouldn’t just teach a subject she would go out of her way to make sure that each and every student had an in depth understanding of what was being taught. She showed this by having one on one conversations with students, staying back after class, contacting students parents if she felt they weren’t coping well to see if there was anything going on in their lives. But she didn’t do this just because she wanted to get paid, obviously that would be a bonus but why not just stand in front of a class and read a textbook and call it a day? She did this because she has a passion and what she got back from her job was satisfaction when she saw good results from students and to her that Is enough to fuel her passion for her career. There are other teachers that don’t bother with student-teacher relationships and don’t put in an effort to try and connect with their students and these are the teachers that are only truly there for the money. In saying this they could have had a passion but it could have worn off over
