Personal Narrative: My Jeep Patriot

The fun and exciting world of car shopping, or so I thought. I was young, determined, and on a mission. I didn’t stop to consider words like value and depreciation, let alone the possible electronic, mechanical, and physical issues that might occur. Purchasing my Jeep Patriot will forever be one major event I wish I could go back and change. From the time I received my driver’s license until a significant time after I graduated high school I drove a 1998 Honda Accord. When the opportunity arose for me to upgrade in the vehicle department I was overjoyed. From the very beginning I had my mind set on getting a Jeep. At that time I didn’t even care what model it was. As long as it had the Jeep logo and the bank would approve the loan I was all for it, which is how I ended up in the downhill spiral that is my Jeep Patriot. …show more content…
The size of my Jeep, especially the back seat is not spacious. The interior is in fact quite similar to that of a normal car. We ran into this particular issue about a week into having my Jeep when we made plans to spend a day at Ripley’s Aquarium. After factoring in myself, fiancé, and our daughter we were left with two empty seats. We decided to invite my mother and younger brother to join us. However, we quickly realized that more than one person would not fit comfortably in the back beside our daughter’s car seat. In addition to the frustration that came with having a new car with virtually no extra guest room, having to borrow a vehicle for our trip was embarrassing.
