Personal Narrative: My Interview With Wendy Weeks

On September 23, 2016, I interview 37-year-old Wendy Weeks. “Sometimes the most valuable lessons,” she observed “is learning what you don’t want in life.” I had a weird look on my face and I asked her what did she mean by this statement. Weeks prove by saying “ That some lesson you need to realize that in life there will be things you do not want.” I still did not understand what she meant. Weeks illustrated this by saying “ I had a job in retail while going to school and I knew that I didn't want to do that for the rest of my life.” She added, “While I worked at that retail job, I didn’t have enough education to work do my job correctly. I had to get an on the job training.” Weeks understands that to keep up with the career market you need …show more content…
Since Mrs. Weeks is a teacher, she is required by law to keep updated on the new research and books on new teaching techniques. Weeks demonstrates this by telling me “ The teaching license has to be renewed every three for teachers who is holding a bachelor’s degrees and every five years for those holding a master’s degrees.” She told me “ To be ready and keep on current information with your field because it will help you from day-to-day in your career for the long run.” Some other ways to stay current, that teachers has in-services meetings which are five days out of a school year. She did not learn much from them, but she said: “ During one the in-services day, they gave me some pointer with cooperative grouping, classroom management, ways to reach stubborn to students.” It was very general topics, that is why Weeks said “Honestly, not much they taught me. One time it was helpful which they taught me how to pair up students so that every student has to take part and with classroom management how to use music and reminder cards.” Weeks said, during that day, it helped me so much for better classroom …show more content…
These techniques have always been confirmed to help many people with their jobs. They have conferences for other professions too and it helped many people to do their job better. Mr. Weeks chimed in by saying “ Many teachers also gain knowledge by reading the latest research, collaboration with other teachers and attending conferences.” Conference Weeks explained that “ Conferences are extra learning techniques about to help new students, make your reaching more interesting and more ways to help students.” Mrs. Weeks went to a DI conference and she learned a lot which helped her students greatly. Weeks knew you needed to stay current in your field but also you need to remain effective in your job. Accordingly, Weeks drove into her niece for lifelong learning is to remain effective in your job field. Being effective in your job is super important and to be on top of your job. Mr. Weeks are extremely good at this with her students. The education field is always changing, as are the children that we teach. This
