Personal Narrative: My Interview With A Positive Person

I met Amanda Gagecroll my first year of middle school. She was my homeroom advisor and I thought very highly of her, she always encouraged us students to do well in school and to be involved in extra curricular activities. She was a very positive person and always thought on the bright side. I decided to interview her college and high school experiences and get to know her on a more personal level. She grew up in a small town called cherry field and attended the same school k-8th grade, then in high school 5 different middle schools combined so she met lots of new people in high school. She was a very hard worker throughout her high school years, she was involved in year round after school activities, clubs, and had a job working at convince stores since she was 15. “ to this day I still don't understand why I couldn't do the work”. Some things she regrets about college were not living on campus all 4 years, she said that she could had made a lot more lifetime friends after college if she lived on campus. Also she wished she applied herself more in college, she felt as though she burnt herself out and worked to hard in high school so when it came to college she was ready for a break. She also stated that she thinks now looking back she could have taken a gap year and done better in college academic wise. One of her greatest achievements in college was when she took the practice test all teachers have to take before graduating and placed 5th overall out of all the people who had ever taken it. She was also proud that she got a job right out of college because she graduated college during the great recession which was a economic downturn and it was very hard to get a job so she was proud of that. She got her first teaching job at Livermore falls high school or RSU 36, then went to the elementary school and now teaches at spruce mountain middle school in jay
