Personal Narrative: My Interview With A PCU Nurse

It was a crazy day. All meetings for that day were cancelled. Therefore, my preceptor and I stayed in the unit. There were two main issues that need to be solved. The first one was solving an issue for a PCU nurse regarding accepted a new work without giving two weeks notice. She has made an interview for a job from one month ago, but she forgot to tell the manager about it and forget that she has did the interviewed. So, when she received a call from the new job caller that she got the job, she has unaware what this person was talking about! Surprisingly, she didn't want to make the two week notice because she didn't know is she would like the new job or no. She preferred to has face to face conversation with the manager regarding the issue …show more content…
She didn't want to quit her current job, but at the same time, she want to try the new job offer. The manager was calm and listening to her. The manager said that is not a problem. We can decrease your working percentage to 40%. By that way, you can work here as a part time until you can decide which job you like more and you find yourself in it. The second issue has happened between the manager and the charge nurse. A nurse who is usually taking care of one of the unique patients has asked the nurse manager why you're transferring this patient to other unit. The other unit won't take care of this patient as we do here! The manager said I know that, but I can't do anything. Then, the manager went to nurses' day room and asked the charge nurse why you're transferring this patient not other one, such as "L" patient. It has to be this patient! And when the manager asked her why, I don't understand? The charge nurse said that staff are complaining. There were four nurses in the room and one of nurses said sitting on that chair and holding that phone is not an easy job. She can't do anything because physicians want that room
