Personal Narrative: My Horse

Being an equestrian has been a huge part of my life ever since I can remember. I have gone from competing at small local shows with a small team to competing at national levels under trainers that travel all over the northeast. Being an equestrian has given me the ability to see what a small investment can become through diligence and perseverance. When I was 12 I went to the All American Quarter Horse Congress and competed. This was a huge competition and some of the people there had horses that likely cost more than my own house. At that age I vividly remember the intimidation that I felt, in fact I was so shaken up my competition I could hardly compete and I became a different person. I no longer was the girl who loved my horse unconditionally,
