Personal Narrative: My Holland Personality Types

Improved Essays
My Holland personality type was a four way tie of artistic, realistic, social, and investigative. My Myers Briggs personality type was ENTJ (9% E > I, 12% N > S, 25% T > F, and 1% J > P). My learning style is kinesthetic.

In two of the three personality tests, I was very well-rounded and not leaning very far towards the result I received. To me, this means that if my personality type fits my career choice, it will not fit perfectly, but if it does not, it is not as big of a deal. ENTJs are considered good leaders that worry more about getting things done, instead of worrying about the people they’re commanding. ENTPs (because I’m only J over P by 1%) are considered debaters. I agree with both of these. I also agree with my learning style

If I had to describe my personality in parallel to geography, I would genuinely be stuck between the tranquility and lightheartedness of a beach, the warmth and cordiality of a small town, and the upbeat, jovial ambiance of a big city. Luckily for me, I came across Northwestern University, a school whose location is dynamic enough to both figuratively and literally fulfill each component of my dynamic personality. It was this diverseness that first drew me in to Northwestern University, but the location is not the university’s only appealingly diverse aspect; Northwestern also provides a spectrum of academic and extracurricular opportunities that mirror my manifold interests. Following the value of an interdisciplinary experience, I would have…
