Personal Narrative: My High School Participation In The Pas Program

My high school participates in the PALS program where selected Juniors and Seniors are asked to help younger seventh grade students as they adjust to middle school. This year and last year I meet with my group of students and we discuss how they are adjusting. I help lead discussion on topics such as bullying and responsibility. I am currently involved in the Missouri A+ program. I tutor students in one of the eighth grade math classes, but I focus on a specific girl. She struggles with her confidence in math, and I have enjoyed watching her gain more confidence I work with her. When there isn’t any homework to do, we talk about her life including her struggles and dreams.
