Personal Narrative: My High School Career

I have lived in the same house for my whole life with my Mom, Dad, sister, and three dogs. School has always been something that I have cared about, some people even tell me that I am obsessed with my grades because I am always checking my grades to see if there is anything but A’s. Currently I am highly interested in my high school career, that is everything from receiving good grades, making the honor roll, graduation, sports, and my friends. My strengths include having a good work ethic, always being prepared, having complete on time work, I pay attention to detail, and I am resilient. One of my challenges I have faced my whole life is my height. I have always been the tallest one and stood out of the crowd because of how tall I am. It was hard not to be insecure about wearing men's shoes, wearing extra long pants, and the names that I would be called. As I grew older, I have learned to accept my height and to use my height to my advantage. Another challenged that I have faced when I was younger was that I struggled with school, especially reading. I volunteer in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program every Wednesday, I go directly after school to Hughes Elementary to see and spend time with my little brother. Also, once a week I attend my environmental club meetings, where we talk about what we can do to help the environment. I have respect for everything and everyone. My priorities include my grades, and everything involving school. I am motivated to perform well in school, become accepted into a good college, and follow a good career path. Once I have made a commitment to something I always finish it because of my level of maturity. Having a good attitude, and being able to adjust to new things, helps me learn to except everyone in all
