In every high school, there are certain athletes who receive more support and attention than others. Some of these athletes receive this praise based on their athletic performance, while others receive it based on their status and financial contributions within the community. The above statement became extremely evident to me at the beginning of my high school athletic career. There were several families in the school district that were gifted financially and were able to contribute monetarily to the school.
