Personal Narrative: My Hershey Day

Improved Essays
I remember the day you were born with all that hair, oh my! You were so darn cute :-) although I wouldn’t hold you until memorial day to hold you. As you grew up we hung out with each others houses a lot. On Sundays we were in each others houses for NASCAR races I would play dollhouse with you as Uncle Joe and your dad would watch the races or should I say sleep, LOL! I would take you to dance class and your mom would meet us there. If there was time on those days I would take you to Hershey Harvest and buy Nonperils it was your favorite candies at the time. Since you come to my house for daycare you and Uncle Joe would wrestle and he would tell your socks, leggings and sleeves so you could not get him. They were days where you would sit on his shoulders and squeeze his head to make a wrinkle puppy or pretend it was a drum. …show more content…
Next thing you know you were off the PSU and you’re working on getting your drivers license since you weren’t interested while you were in high school. I remember you telling a story about a boy at college that kind a liked you and you brought them home along with a friend home to meet the family and he asked you out before going back to college.. So cute! While in college and changing your major three times you came and told me that you were changing it to become an elementary education teacher I don’t think I could’ve have made a better choice. Sorry, if I sound biased but you know, hee hee! The day we came to PSU as a surprise to see Drue propose to you was so sweet. Today I’m a very proud aunt of such a beautiful young woman who is going to be very successful. Not to mention having a young man by her side to help each other continue on their journey called

Have you ever stopped caring so much that whatever happens, happens? I remember the time I had gotten in trouble by my mom because I had walked home from school. It was a gloomy day from it being so cloudy and cold. I was talked into walking home during school by friends whom, at the time didn't care about school as much as I did, cared nothing of school. I didn’t like it, but then again I started not to care either.…

Ariyonna Underwood As one ages, one starts to become their own person, figuring things out for oneself and becoming more independent. But as for me, I was a very shy, quiet, and stay-to-myself kind of person. I didn’t like being around a lot of people or just doing nothing. When times got hard I would listen to my music and just be in my own little world. I would bottle up all my emotions and not tell anybody anything.…

It was just after the Christmas of 2009, when my friend’s father, Jeff, gave my father a call from about 200 miles north. He had called to ask if we wanted to join them at their holiday vacation rental up in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Of course, my father said yes. I was excited to go as well, because I knew my best friends, Jesse and Hannah, would be there, too. The night we arrived, Jeff suggested we enjoy some milkshakes in the city.…

As I pulled into the park on a Friday evening, the sun glistened off of the metal handlebars lining the top of the skateboard area. Parents pulled into the parking lot with barely enough time to shift into park when their children eagerly thrust the door open and sprint towards the wooden entrance. The ground teetered as I walked in with young children not even reaching my waist rush in to claim their rightful throne on the swings. One child peeks their head from the top of the slide, exclaiming “Hello” and “Holla” to anyone who might hear him from such a massive heights. She still has Braum’s chocolate ice cream smeared on her face that could be mistaken for dirt.…

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that an individual child with a desire to gain one Snickers bar, must be prepared to trade no less than three Twix bars. In my household, every bag of fun sized confections was an opportunity for a ridiculous negotiation with a not so ridiculous lesson behind it. When my father loves Snickers just as much as I do, why should he take only one inferior Twix for one Snickers? Critically assessing how much my companion stands to lose versus how much I was willing to pay to get what I want is a skill I have been developing since middle school. Negotiation and debate, human interaction of all kinds have always piqued my interests both academically and recreationally.…
