I didn’t know what I was in for after that day. A writer’s key experiences is what makes them different from other writers and is crucial to their growth as a writer. The writing I composed in Mrs. Heningburg’s class was central to my development as a writer because it made me more confident in my writing and made me more aware of others reading my work as a writer. After hearing my last writing assignment's result in the class, I started expecting a high scoring on my writing works. The compliment about my essay from my sixth-grade teacher changed me, so let's start from the beginning.
Mrs.Heningburg’s sixth-grade last writing assignment changed my attitude and work ethic towards writing greatly making me the writer I am today, and it started when we were first shown the prompt. I walked into class one day with an indifferent look on my face and then went to my seat. I took out

Then, she called suddenly called my name to come up to the front of the class. I went up there with the whiteboard behind me and Mrs.Heningburg’s arm around my shoulder and in that moment I was anxious being at the center of attention with clammy hands and a rapid heartbeat. She then went to compliment my work in front of the class and saying how she gave me a perfect score and the other teachers scoring my paper with high remarks. After she said that I became embarrassed, and I felt flustered and extremely happy. Later that day, I started to think about all the work I put into to that paper and how much of a rollercoaster of emotions it was. At nineteen years old I have written more papers, letters, texts, e-mails and notes then ten people can even remember, and in all honesty only three really stick out in my memory: a four page paper on my dream vacation from ninth grade, my five page research essay from last semester, and my very first college essay also from last semester. With these three in mind I decided one was not like the others, thus my most memorable writing experience would have to be my very first college essay, a short three page paper assigned on a pivotal point in my life, entitled “No, Because I Said So.” This is my most memorable writing experience for three reasons, the first being because it was so difficult for me to write, the second, it took me writing the paper to fully understand the life lesson my pivotal point had taught me, and the third, most important of all is because I was able to share my essay with Mrs. Barrett, thanking her for creating the pivotal point in my life.…
