Do you want to know how I grew up from a small town in Iowa to the best football player and coach? When I was about 8 I started playing football. I was the best linebacker in high school and college football. I was the 1st, 1st round pick in the NFL draft. Retired and became the best football coach in history.…
Every week I had physical therapy. My friends from the football team couldn’t wait to see me back on the field with them. They always encouraged me, when they would stop by the trainer’s room after practice. I took their encouragement, and did all that I could to heal quicker. Sophomore year rolled around, and it was time for me to get back into the sport I loved, but my leg still was in tremendous pain when I would hit full speed.…
I would like for you to get to know me a little bit better. I'm going to tell you just a few of my passions. You can tell a lot about someone by their interests. Growing up I’ve always been raised around sports. Basketball it was the Denver Nuggets until Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony traded teams.…
Vince Lombardi addressed football as, ¨Football is like life - it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and respect of authority¨. Throughout my lifetime I have had many experiences, some great, others, not so great, but no matter what, I have put full effort and commitment with everything that I have done. The most valued experience that I have is football. Football has shaped me into the person I am today and has laid a foundation in which I could build my values on. I started playing the game since I was in grade school. Till this day, the excitement of strapping on my pads and hearing the crack of the helmets has not changed one bit.…
Football game It was the third game of the season. We were playing Zeeland on the varsity football field. We warmed up on the 45 yard line. My team started with stretches then moved on to sprints, bearcrwals, all the warmups. Sawyer, Preston, and I were chosen to be in the coin toss.…
This was the day I have been waiting for, my first football game for my middle school football team. This was one of the best moments I have had in my life. It was my time to shine and show the other team what I got. It was almost game time and we were playing Arndt Middle School. It was almost kickoff and our team got the ball first.…
That friday there was a 7 on 7 scrimmage and I told my coach I felt fine I can play and he let me play. There was not even 15 minutes that have gone by and my shoulders struck and pain shoots my shoulder like the first time it happened. The trainer comes over asks what is wrong and checks it and says you are sitting and resting for 2 more weeks. The 2 weeks goes by and I am back another friday night and there is another scrimmage and I have had 3 catches and 1 interception I was on fire. The thought started running through my head maybe it is all healed and I am fine now as I go up for a catch and shoved, falling to the ground I hit shoulder first.…
Accomplishments come plenty to those who underappreciate them, and scarcely to those who fight for them their entire lives to even have one. Accomplishments come to those who work hard every day while so many others get them default; these people are the ones who without hesitation give up everything else when a chance comes to be better, not only for others, but for themselves. Accomplishments are marks and decrees of excellence and achievement, and they signal the growth of a person’s character. An accomplishment is when an opportunity comes and provides a chance for a person to move forward on their path to success. When my opportunity was presented and I was given the responsibility and requirements needed to be successful, it was second…
I was out of shape and I needed to be in shape to even think about playing a varsity down. So I pushed myself at practice trying to finish sprints faster before everyone else in my group. It took a long while to get into shape and I needed to get into shape faster so the day we had practice I’d go home and run and jog to get myself into shape faster. Coach noticed me getting into shape and trying my hardest to get myself a position…
The opposing team had the ball. We were so nervous. If we didn’t pull this game of we would be done our season and we also wouldn’t be going to the championship. I knew what I had to do. I stepped in as linebacker right before they snapped the ball.…
Last year during fantasy football I had a great team my players rarely got hurt and none of them got suspended. On the other hand almost all of my opponents had to deal with that. My opponents all agreed that I had the best draft overall, and I would still get beat by all of them. First is the draft of a lifetime, I got the second pick and I picked Le'veon Bell. I also got many other good players such as: Drew Brees, Panthers Defense, Derek Carr, and Amari Cooper.…
When I was little people always told me that nothing comes for free, and at the time, I really didn’t give it much thought. Now that I’m older I know that nothing comes easy and if you really want to accomplish something and be good at it, you must work. In 2012 when I was about ten years old, I remember going to my cousin Jacob’s football game. He played here at Cesar Chavez, he was number 36 and played fullback and linebacker.…
A Football story Last year we had football season and I was on the middle school and high school team. It was fun being on the highschool and varsedy. I like I like to think that I was the best one out their because I was the one who would run out their to the players. It was fun going to all the football games because it was so much fun. One thing cam me going.…
I believe that people are mentally tougher than they appear. Mental toughness is developed through every day challenges and it can come in a variation of ways. My personal experience is developing it through sports. Throughout my childhood, I did ballet, hip-hop, competitive cheer, gymnastics, softball, competitive basketball, competitive soccer, and ten years of competitive volleyball. I had to deal with a multitude of physical hardships and challenges that truly tested my mental toughness.…
I started to cry and ran away from the practice field to the front of the school to the buses. I would end up taking a week off from practice and wanted to quit, but my parents refused. It wasn’t until halfway through the season that I played as a defender in the first game of the season. I did not know why my coach had me start and I think he would regret it.…
