Grew up as a child never wanting to leave the house. Before beginning the 6th grade at Stilwell Military Academy of Leadership, I made a decision that a first I never seen myself doing. My family and I took my little brother to sign him up for baseball at the ball park. I turned to my dad and asked if I could endeavor softball. The season was very short for the JV team. About a week or two after the season was over coach asked me if I would like to join varsity and play first base. Of course I said yes even though me and my dad said that I wasn’t going to play for a while to give my knee time to heal completely.
I didn’t get to play many games for varsity, which my dad was kind of mad because he had to spend $60 on new pants. Even though I just got to sit in the dugout it was pretty exciting to be there cheering on the girls. The varsity girls went to districts and we were automatically in the semi-finals. But we had lost the game to Terry Parker. I was one of the starters, I started at first but I was just a defense player.
Now that the season is over I just plan on taking a break. I am going to skip slow pitch to let my knee heal more. This will also give me more time to enjoy watching my 8-year-old brother play baseball at White House. I absolutely love playing softball, and I my dream is to be good enough to be able to play in college, help other kids learn to play softball or

While growing up, sports have always been a big part of my life. At the age of only six years old, my parents first signed me up for coach pitch softball. Little did they know that I was going to fall in love with the game and that they were going to have to spend countless hours at softball fields during the spring each year watching me play. Being so young when I first started playing, winning and losing did not matter at all. As long as I got to throw, hit, and catch the ball, I was happy.…
