I have been at my job for almost sixteen years. Each of my supervisors had recognized my strength as a maximizer shortly after I was hired (Anderson, Clifton, & Schreiner, 2006). I was given responsibilities and jobs that no else wanted, because it was tedious and time consuming (Anderson, Clifton, & Schreiner, 2006). My first responsibility at my job was making military identification cards for military personnel, dependents, and retirees. I have used this strength several times throughout my career and in my life. When I previously made military identification cards, I had a reputation for working special cases that no other military identification center wanted to complete. These special cases usually involved making several phone calls and sending several faxes until I was authorized to make the identification card.
Discipline and consistency are my fourth and fifth identified strengths (Anderson, Clifton, & Schreiner, 2006). I am known for my honesty at my job. I don’t blame others for my mistakes, instead I work harder until I have reached my goals (Anderson, Clifton, & Schreiner, 2006). I believe in a level of consistency within my work (Anderson, Clifton, & Schreiner, 2006). When Stars & Stripes wrote an article about me receiving an award from the United States Postal Service in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, I made sure that everyone involved in the mailroom was recognized and in the photograph.
In conclusion, my top five strengths are maximizer, context, responsibility, discipline, and consistency (Anderson, Clifton, & Schreiner, 2006). I find these strengths accurately identified in my life since I use them everyday in my career and in my personal
