Personal Narrative: My Golf Cart

Improved Essays
One morning I was chilling in my golf cart. I thought I saw something from a distance, something little. I waited for a minute and it got bigger. It looked like a white fur ball. Finally it got close enough for me to see it … it was a mean little dog. It was chasing me!!! I slammed my foot on the gas pedal. I looked back and it was still chasing me. It was close enough to jump on and bite my head off. I say in a nice voice … nice little doggy. The dog jumps on and tries to bite me. It jumps on my face and I can not see where I am going! Coming up was a big black truck. The golf cart was gliding in circles across the road. I was about to crash. Finally I gently push the dog off while slowing down the golf cart so I do not hurt

On a beautiful clear morning of February the 19th, my mom picked me up from my class at the University of West Georgia, then we went to Waffle House to have a nice breakfast. We left from Waffle House, proceeding down Maple Street, and turned onto South Street and immediately onto Kenner Street. We then turned onto on the merging lane on South Park Street (US Hwy 27) heading south, we immediately halted to a full stop as vehicles moved from the middle lane into the merging lane in front of us, but at that time there were no vehicles behind us. As we waited to enter traffic, a car suddenly struck us from behind which caused the car to jerk violently forward, causing my mother’s chest to hit the steering wheel, and our heads and bodies to whip forward and then back.…

The boys were getting older, and one of them mentioned a go-cart one day, inspiring me to make another one. The fifth one would have a 5HP engine, a real clutch and motorcycle wheels with integral wheel brakes. We had an area to drive it on the road behind us was not developed much. Each time I built one, I made the design simpler and at this point it could be put together in a couple weeks. The balloon-type wheels cushioned the ride on the rough local streets and provided excellent braking.…

Often, we perform an action or a task without little thought going into it — I have found that if I do this, along with the same task, over and over again, it becomes something I barely even notice. So much so, it may be problematic. For example, I often drive the same route, from a point A to a point B. This route, over a period of time, becomes familiar to me. Sometimes, I drive this route, and drive at my destination realizing I have little to no remembrance of driving.…
