Personal Narrative: My Goals In College

Improved Essays
My goal since the beginning of the year was to start the year with a lot of enthusiasm. I wanted to be positive about a fresh start of a school year. I wanted to leave my procrastination in the past and start fresh in college. I knew I didn’t do as well as my parents though I was capable of doing in high school. My chance was to prove them wrong in college because they believed in me to pay for my college. I don’t want to let my parents down or waste money so my goal in college is to work hard to graduate in four years and give my parents my diploma. My first test was for Mass Media and it wasn’t that hard. I thought I had prepared for it enough but I didn’t. Maybe studying one week in advance was a bad idea and I forgot some material. It was 80 multiple choice answers and through out the test the teacher gave us free points. She gave us free points by giving us a question like “Do you want to get a free point? A. yes b. No or c. I would pick yes.” This surprised me because I thought teachers in high school did this only on their test. It was nice of the teacher to do this because she didn’t want us to stress about the test. The exam surprised me because it was exactly like her notes and the study guide actually helped me to get prepared for the test. I thought college test weren’t going to be straight forward. I thought the teacher was going to trick us and give us the opposite of the study guide. I just though teachers in college were going to be mean and not help us pass the test. I was also surprised that my teacher provided scan tron for everyone in the class. My class has about 200 students so my class is big and I didn’t think she had enough for everyone. For my math class everyone had to provide their own scan tron. That’s why I was surprised because in high school we didn’t had to worry about buying our own scan

So he decided to call the students one by one but of course he was basing himself on the roster that he had. Indeed my turned came, and he told me that sadly I didn’t pass, and that he was sad because, he knew that I was a good student that he doesn’t know what happened to me. So yes the next semester came around, and it’s like this if you don’t pass it they right away give you a retaining class which that pretty much means that you didn’t pass the test, and in the other hand you’re going to waste another half semester in a retaining class instead of you taking another, class that it could be really useful, or one that you just simply need. Well long story short I finally walked in, and I actually got a pretty nice teacher that he could actually controlled the classes that he had. Well indeed, finally the day of the exam came over, and I simply told myself that I could do it that I simply just had to read it carefully, and just simply had to take my time, and this time I was going to pass because, I had a really good teacher, and…
