Personal Narrative: My Goal

Improved Essays
Each time I climb the rock wall I try to build on each experience. I try to push myself to go a little bit faster each time. I set goals to push myself to do better on each climb. My goals include: Trying a new wall every time I climb, trying to go faster up walls I have already climbed, and I try to stay positive while doing my climbs.
My goal of trying a new wall each climb fits perfectly into smart goals. The goal is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. My goal of scaling walls faster could be more specific in regards to speed or time. Lastly my goal of trying to stay positive is good, but definitely could be more specific. My goal of staying positive also is not able to be measured. Another thing I need to improve on making sure I create new outcome, performance, and process goals. Next time I am climbing the rock wall, I will be reevaluating my goals to make sure they fit the criteria of smart goals as well as adding any additional goals as I see fit.

Tactile cells found in the epidermis help me locate the best hand holds. Tactile Cells act as sensory receptors in the skin. More specifically, tactile cells are found in the dermal papillae. Sweat that comes from my palms while I am climbing is coming from dermal papillae in my skin. More specifically, sudoriferous glands (apocrine sweat glands) located in the dermis, produce the sweat that eventually ends up on my hands. Dermal papillae also assist me in gripping the wall with more ease. Keratinocytes which are found in the dermis are involved in protection. Sometimes while climbing the wall, I develop calluses which are caused by friction and come from keratinocytes. Many times while climbing the wall I start to perspire. The dermis contains apocrine glands; whose primary function is maintaining a constant body

Confidence I’ve acknowledged that word just recently. I was shy and very quiet and I still am today but, not as much.…
