You might be thinking that we will be making our gingerbread house from scratch, but that is not the case. She turns Christmas music on the radio, and my dad leaves the kitchen and goes to the basement so he doesn't have to be a part of the decorating. Nicholas and I are sitting at the table and our mom comes to join us. She takes a deep breath in and we begin. She gets Nicholas to hold two sides of the house together while she squirts icing on them to hold them together. I am just sitting there staring at the candy trying to think of what I will put on my side, when I hear growls.
