I am writing to inform you of how excited I am to be taking this class in order to improve my writing skills for my future profession as a Veterinarian. The tools I learned in ENC1101, ENC1102 and AEC3030C have prepared me for the vigorous assignments that are awaiting me for this next semester. I understand that you are an excellent person to give advice on how to better my writing for the professional world and I am very interested in critical feedback on my assignments. I am a junior at the University of Florida (UF) studying animal science and plan on going to Veterinarian School in the future. I love scuba diving, when I have time, and being involved with the Pre-Vet Club and Exotic Animal Club. Currently, my best friend and I are starting a club that is based off of the organization, Canine Companion for Independence, which is a service dog training organization. This semester, I am taking fourteen credits and volunteering eleven hours a week at the Small Animal Hospital on UF’s campus. …show more content…

In other writing base classes, the assistant professors focused primarily on structure and as long as you follow the structure, you received a good grade. I believe that this class will be very beneficial for me because it will help me find my voice in my writing while also conveying important information to my fellow peers in my future area of work. In my future career, writing can be used for possible research opportunities. Writing emails and communicating with the clients is another very important aspect of being a Veterinarian. If one were to ask a young girl want she wants to be when she grows up, she would proudly say a princess, or maybe a rock star. I’ve never been the typical girl though and my answer was always different. Some days I wanted to be a dog trainer or a zookeeper and being a marine biologist wouldn’t be too bad. In middle school I realized what all these jobs had in common; animals. I knew whole heartedly that I wanted to work with them, to improve not only their health and welfare, but also that of the community they were in.…

My future career goal is to be a Veterinarian, and hopefully to open my own practice. In order to be a Veterinarian, I need to obtain a DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine). The first step to obtaining a DVM is to complete undergraduate school. Several schools only require 45-90 undergraduate hours, but the school I am interested in, requires a bachelors degree. Finding a position in the field of veterinarian medicine has a high chance, due to the current rate of attrition, many Veterinarians are starting to retire and those places will need to be filled.…

Writing has always been a struggle for me for as long as I can remember. I find it difficult to put my thoughts on a paper, especially if I have to do it in another language. Some people think that as long as they can speak a language or communicate with other people, it is enough. However, these people are totally wrong. People do not only need to speak a language fluently, but they also have to be able to write it.…
