Personal Narrative: My Funeral

There are two certain things in life, birth and death. Choices are easy to make when you are alive, because you know what you want, and you may execute them yourself, but once you do kick the bucket those choices are no longer as easy to make, because others have to make them for you. Should people not know what it is you want then it is really hard. Funerals can be a lot of hard work to plan and go through not only emotionally, but physically as well. For my funeral I would like to begin it, by my death being announced on the radio, o the department where I worked the longest. It should be made obvious, that it is not a day we mourn rather a day to celebrate, and enjoy knowing that I have passed and livd a great lifestyle. I would also like …show more content…
I would like it to be a day long event full of things that I loved to do. I would ask the people that were really close to me to go ski as a group then later surf at the beach, and have more gather there. By the end of that it would be around 15:00. From there I would want everyone to meet a park of choice of my parents. At the park I would like for my friends, family, relatives, co-workers, and people that really got to know me and truly enjoyed being around me to join and celebrate my life and that I lived it the way I wanted to live it. For those from the fire service, please show up in a wild-land or turnout coat. For those from ski patrol, please show up with your “red”. As for the rest of those that were not involved in either of those activities that I truly love so much attire will be Hawaiian shirts, with shorts and flip flops for the dudes, and sun dresses for the gals, as it is a celebration. As for the recaption itself I would like it to be no longer than 20 minutes, as everyone knew how much I hated similar events and had very little patience for these types of events. If there are things that want to be said by others, too bad they had all day to be together and talk about
