During my freshsman year of highschool, I made a long term goal to become the cross country captain by senior year. I listened to the upperclassmen on the team and took their advice as I matured throughout each season. I understood that in order to become captain of the team I would have to work my tail off. The obstacles that stood in the way included competition between other schools and whether or not I would put work in during the offseason. I challenged myself to get through these obstacles by working out in the offseason. I had to take certain measures such as eating healthier, getting a good amount of sleep, and putting forth my best effort. The reward of possibly becoming the captain of the team fueled my determination. At no cost
