All this time I had thought I knew my friend Jahni but I had no clue his life was falling apart. I felt so bad I felt as if I gave up on him when he really just needed someone to guide him and get through the loss of his mother. His mother was the only thing he had left in this world his father he never met he was incarcerated somewhere upstate is what his mother had told him. It's crazy how a persons attitude can change when things at home aren't to great. Before he was always giggling and out of nowhere he became so serious. Jahni had a good heart but many parents knew about his bad choices including mines. My parents no longer wanted me to be around him which it could not happen I couldn't just let him open up to me like that and just drop him completely like that . "Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence" I have had many ups and downs over the course of my life thus far. One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

In high school my most outstanding example of a time when I set an example as a student leader was my sophomore year in high school. My sophomore year of high school I was brought up to the varsity soccer team, the team that I was on was not extremely hard working and or dedicated. As a sophomore I was afraid to stand up and verbally tell the entire team that we need to step it up, or we are going to have a horrible season, so I decided to make my statement apparent by my actions. First, I started by always being the first one to every practice, putting pressure on my other teammates to do the same, in result everyone started to arrive to practice earlier. The second step I took was difficult since I was one of the youngest players and the…

The day of August 27, 2012 I was officially titled a freshman. One look down those unknown red and blue walls, will forever change my perspective of high school. There was an instant moment of disbelief in my freshman, I was terrified, and no thought came to mind as to how I was going to survive high school for the next four years. Of course I knew it'll be different from my tiny middle school, but will it be like the cliché movies about the upcoming of age, or resemble the happiest times of life. From that first day, I knew I wasn’t like everyone else.…

During my freshsman year of highschool, I made a long term goal to become the cross country captain by senior year. I listened to the upperclassmen on the team and took their advice as I matured throughout each season. I understood that in order to become captain of the team I would have to work my tail off. The obstacles that stood in the way included competition between other schools and whether or not I would put work in during the offseason. I challenged myself to get through these obstacles by working out in the offseason.…

My freshman year was one of my craziest school year. It came from fake hall passes, to skipping in the restroom, and acting all bad by getting referrals. I remember my ap secretary always used to call me “Diablo” just because i always got in trouble and she said i used to drive her crazy. I just never cared about the consequence of skipping so much, good thing I never got caught. Meeting new friends and new attitudes and a little more of responsibility and to be honest waking up so early every single morning was not that fun.…

One of my friends who was my best friend since 8th grade who talked to me like twice a month when I as in NY didn’t really talk to me anymore. Every time we would try to hang out she would always have a reason why she couldn’t. We use to be best friends and tell each other everything and now we hardly even talk. The hardest part was going back to school and seeing the people that she replaced me with. I never knew moving would change things so much.…
