The first time I went to a Math competition was at Catholic High Math Tournament in 2016. I had told my parents that they should not expect that I bring any award home as it was my first …show more content…
Maybe the fact that I never expected myself to reach these heights made me exuberant when I was bestowed with such merits. I could never have imagined that like my sister, I would have a bunch of accolades proudly sitting in my room. Being an average student in previous schools, I could never have imagined placing a handful of awards on top of my shelf. Participating in Mu Alpha Theta competitions has increased my self-confidence and urge to exceed. I try to better myself each time I attend a competition to see how I can improve. In the four Mu Alpha Theta competitions I have attended over the past year, I have received four accolades - a third position, a second position, and two first positions. Over time, improving in co-curricular activities has enabled me to believe in myself. I have become more confident in front of my teachers and peers after receiving these accolades. I love to represent Episcopal in Mu Alpha Theta competitions as it provides me with a sense of responsibility. Seeing encouraging comments from teachers and parents on Episcopal blogs on Mu Alpha Theta competitions is heartwarming. I feel a sense of pride to be given the opportunity to represent my

With this information I felt so humbled, and honoured for even being thought of as a possible nominee.
