Personal Narrative: My First Week In Indiana

Have you ever jumped out of bed because you were so excited? When I heard I made it on his team I was ecstatic. I would be representing Wisconsin in Indiana to play soccer against other states. I had practice about every other week in Madison. I woke up the morning, because I had to get on the bus at about 6:00 to go to Brookfield, but I stayed in my cousin’s house in Brookfield so I did not have to drive far. I got on the bus and sat next to my friend Christian but before that I had to say goodbye to my grandma who brought me.
Suddenly the bus was off. We were on our way to Indiana. On our way we saw many sights, sooner than later I looked outside and saw Sixs Flags. When I saw that I knew we were getting close to Chicago, which was about 3 hours away from our hotel. Our bus went past a big mall that I really want to go to. About 2 min. Later we went past a train track party, there were so many and I could look up and see really far. Instantly I heard a sound and looked up the bus driver had put a movie on. The movie was the Lion King. We finally stopped at a rest stop.

I went to the bathroom and got back on the bus. The bus started to move and we were in the homestretch. Finally our team got to the hotel and we found our roommates and got to our rooms.
My team had our first game the night we got there so we had to get changed and head for the bus. When my team got to the complex my team warmed up. The game had started and we were down 1 nothing. We got in the groove and scored 7 goals. The game ended and we went back to the hotel and had a party. But our party was crashed because we all had to go to

Atwood, Indiana I would not call this my favorite place, but since I do not actually have a favorite place, this is my only option. My great-grandma died on October third of 2012 (I remember death dates, and yes, I know that it is weird), but that day was oddly one of my favorites. Her name was Norma Jean Irwin, and she was so small and frail, yet stronger than a horse pulling a carriage. She grew up in Indiana, where the house is currently standing, and lived as a farm wife, which of course contributed to her strength.…

Living in Texas is not what people portray it to be. I have never been to a rodeo, I have never owned a pair of cowgirl boots, and “Howdy” is nowhere in my vocabulary. However, I do have big hair and have a slight Southern accent. I live in a big suburban city called Arlington. I love my state and my city.…

Almost two years ago, in the middle of my sophomore year of high school, I packed up everything and moved from a small town in Georgia to a much larger town in Michigan. I had lived in Georgia for my entire life, and I knew just about everything in Michigan would be different: the accents, the weather, the population of my town, the list goes on. Despite this, I was open to leaving my home state behind. Both of my parents obtained better jobs, and we would be just a few short hours from family that I typically only saw once a year. When I started school in Michigan, I had to adjust to a new schedule and meeting new people.…

West Virginia So the thing is I am just a twiggy white girl perhaps too oblivious to handle the poverty stricken sectors of West Virginia. And while this may be true, I also know that I have a God big enough to expand across any social, or economic boundary that we may face. I also believe that I am-- or will be-- prepared to undergo such an experience. My goal is to grow to learn more about the culture of the city, to pull myself into the best place with Christ I can be, and to trust in my knowledge and experience I do have.…

I’ve lived my entire life in Indiana, as have my parents. My mom and dad were raised close to Monroe and went to Adams Central, where they met and fell in love. They ended up moving north to Fort Wayne where they had my sister and I. We began our schooling in FWCS, but we moved farther north to the tiny town of Huntertown later, which led to my sister and I switching to NACS for my high schooling and her middle and high schooling. Due to all of the events that have happened here in Indiana throughout my life, and due to most of my immediate family living in the area, I have a desire to continue living and working here.…

For instance, there was a carving of Spongebob and Elmo too. It was a pretty cool experience to me, and we also saw a deer. That night, we had went to a steakhouse to eat at for dinner. The morning had come and we were happy for that day because we were going to a local fair they were having.…
