Personal Narrative: My First Ultrasound

Two years ago I had my first ultrasound for my first baby. Once I stepped into that room my stomach became filled with butterflies, my throat felt dry, my palms became sweaty. I had no idea what to expect. But as soon as the sonographer made her entrance my worries take an exit .She made me feel so welcomed, her sweet and passionate smile, simply the way she made me feel as if I had known her my whole life. Once she actually began the procedure, and I felt that cold jelly on my enormous baby belly, I immediately became amazed by the beauty of it. I automatically fell in love with every little body part she was showing me. I didn't just fall in love with the little boy that was growing in my body, I fell in love with the beauty of Sonography. …show more content…
With this I want to be able to give every single patient that steps into that room the comfortable and pleasant experience they deserve . I want to give every single patient the memorable moment I received whenever I went in for an ultrasound . Of course , I also understand that there's a downside . Good news won't always be the case , but with my education , training , and personal skills I plan to make the situation as comforting as it can possibly be . Some of the needs in this field of study would be things such as late nights and working holidays . Some other more day to day needs would be patience and being a people person . You need a positive attitude to give these people a positive experience . Most importantly you need a passion for what you do . If we love what we do , we will never work a day in our life . I know what it's like sitting on the other side , being the patient gave me an insight on precisely how I need to make my patients feel , important …show more content…
For example , when looking at my transcript you will actually see various transcripts of a variety of universities . I live in a small town that doesn't have much to offer and in order to obtain all the prerequisites I had to travel two and a half a hours two times a week to attend a certain class . This shows that I'm willing to do anything such as travel to various universities and be as flexible as it gets in order to make it work . I am determined and passionate enough in this career choice that I would do it all . I have a desire to learn , and my academic record shows it . Of course , some areas on my academic record are stronger than others , and although it does reflect my ability , I am capable of even more than what I have done especially if I am studying something I love .

Some of the particular strengths I posses that qualify me for the program would be my determination . I am very goal oriented and ambitious and I will achieve the goals I set . I am also very hard working and I have a very strong desire to help others . I want to learn , and I will do everything to my best ability . There is nothing more rewarding than being of service to others .

Although it took a bit longer than anticipated to finally perceive what exactly I wanted to do with my life , I am overjoyed that it happened at such a beautiful moment . This incident lead me to a whole different adventure I had no idea was in

I enjoy working as part of a team because of the shared ideas and interpretations. As a sonographer, I expect to work alongside physicians, nurses, fellow sonographers, and other medical staff to offer patients a comprehensive treatment plan. A traveler taps the side of the vehicle to board, pays, rides and then taps to jump off at a desired destination.
