I honestly didn’t think I was going to get better as it was very difficult to enjoy things, from the constant guilt and loneliness I felt. During my freshman year of high school, I didn’t do any extra curricular activities due to me feeling this way. Once I got home from school, I would just lock myself up in my room and go to sleep. When I thought about my future, I always thought I was going to end it as soon as I could because I didn’t think that I had the ability to do great things and I was just tired of living. I hated this feeling, I wanted it to stop, but I didn't know what to do. It wasn’t until one day, a girl in my class, Kaela, helped me take a step to recovery which was getting help. She notified the counselors about what was going on and she guided me in the right direction. I thank her so much because she saved my life and she barely knew who I was beside the girl who helped her with her history homework. She made me realize that people do care about you even if they don’t know who you are and that every life is precious. While I was in my sophomore year of high school, she had passed away in a car accident. After that tragic accident, it made me value my life, from that point on, I …show more content…
To get where I am now, it took a lot of time, effort, and will to think positively about things and not harm myself. Since seventh grade I have struggled with feelings almost everyone has experience at least once in their lives: depression and insecurity. My first three years of living with them was the most difficult time I’ve had in my life. I hated my appearance, my voice, my thoughts, my dreams; I hated myself and simply life in general. I fell into a deep pit of sadness and remained there for quite some time. Due to my low self-esteem I didn 't feel as if I wasn 't good enough or intelligent enough to succeed in life, so I stopped trying as hard in school.…
