Getting to New Orleans
While flying into Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is an option, Shreveport is only about five hours from New Orleans so I drove.
Driving meant, I had to go pay my friends at Avis a visit. Avis is always my rental car choice because they have nice vehicles, great rates, easy booking/pickup/drop off and great customer service.

There is a large open pay per hour/day parking lot directly across the street from the hotel but the hotel also offers valet parking. Valet is $34/day but well worth it. Flash Valet, the operators, have done a great job with their system. Once you drop off, you are given your ticket with instructions on how to retrieve your car. You can either notify the front desk or text when you are ready for your car. After you send your initial text, you receive a text saying your request has been received. A few minutes later, you receive a text with the approximate time that your car will be ready. This eliminates the need to go downstairs and wait and wait and wait. I had several dinner appointments that I drove to so before I started getting dressed, I would text for my car and it was waiting on me. SCORE
