First Time Fracturing A Bone

On one sunny Sunday evening in August 2015 my friend was teaching me how to do a front flip on my trampoline in the backyard.
When she first started showing me how to do one I was scared that I wouldn't land right and end up hurting myself. Eventually I finally followed the steps she was showing me. I kept jumping really high and trying to do one. After awhile I actually did my first front flip on a trampoline. I got really used to doing them so I thought I was good and was most likely to land each one I did. My friend went home once it got dark because we had to go to school the next day. Once she left I was still doing many flips. I called my mom outside to watch me to do one. I wanted to jump really high and touch the

My face fell forward and my body came down over my head. All I heard was 4 pops in my back. My mom came over to the trampoline and asked if I was okay. I told her I couldn't move. I was stuck in one position. She went inside of my house to get my dad. I was in shock that it happened. My parents kept asking me if they needed to call the ambulance or if they needed to drive me to the hospital. I told them I didn't know if I wanted to go because I didn't wanna go if nothing was wrong with me. My dad told me to go inside and lay down. I couldn't get up so I decided that I needed to go to the hospital. I tried slowly sliding off off of it. My dad ended up carrying me to the car. I didn’t know how to sit in the car because i didn’t wanna end up hurting myself more. My mom and I started driving to the hospital and I was telling her to hurry. I wasn't crying or anything I just kept saying “ow” over and over again. After about 5 mins we showed up at the hospital. My mom went inside and told them I needed help getting out. Two guys came out and carried me into a hospital bed. I got pushed into the emergency room. All these nurses came around me and took blood from

This story begins on a hot, summer Sunday on a neighborhood playground in Ponte Vedra Beach Florida when I was a kindergartener. The playground had one item that I liked the most which was a thing that you would hold onto then someone would push you across ten feet while your feet were hanging down. My dad came up to push me and might have pushed me a little too hard. When I got to the end of the line there was a rubber block that stops you very abruptly. Due to inertia, I was flung off of the handle over the rail, then did some crazy acrobatics in the air, Finally I landed right on top of my left wrist.…

I first began playing rec volleyball which kept me active and didn’t take up a lot of extra time. Then when I got to high school, volleyball began to take up more and more of my time. For nearly two years I participated in volleyball year-round and was becoming a good all-around player, and my coaches were starting to recognize that.…

However, I do believe that everyone that experiences a trauma will be scared. Through counseling as a young woman, I realized that it is best not to repress feelings although I thought I had conquered or resolved issues I realized during my undergrad there were still underlying emotions. Growing up in Detroit I experienced many things happening in the street and family members…
